
The company Clickair link from Brussels to Barcelona this week with two daily flights in each direction, the route which provides transport 240,000 passengers during 2008, reported today the low-cost airline owned by Iberia.
This accounts for about one quarter of total market share air current between the capital and Barcelona Community.
Unlike much of the 'low cost', Clickair will fly to Brussels Zaventem airport rather than other away from the Belgian capital as Charleroi.
The airline anticipates that the business traveler will be on its flights between Barcelona and the Belgian capital to 35% of the passage and up to 55 percent on specific days and times.
With this new route, the company brings to 38 the number of domestic and international destinations in Barcelona, equivalent to more than 150 flights a day and an average excess of 16,000 passengers per day.
Since January this year, the airline "took first place whatsoever" in the El Prat airport in Barcelona, both in volume of passengers and destinations and frequencies between all companies operating in the Catalan capital.
Clickair, owned by Iberia, Quercus Equity (Agrolimen Group), Nefinsa, Iberostar and Cobra (ACS Group), each with 20% of the capital, flies to 16 domestic airports and 29 Europeans.
