Major Spanish companies earn a profit record

Neither the international financial crisis, nor the macroeconomic deterioration in the developed world, nor the economic slowdown Spanish, nor halt the construction ... Large companies in the country have succeeded in weathering this murky outlook and today, the last day for submission of results, it is possible to note that last year showed the highest corporate profits in the history of Spain.
The clearest evidence of the excellent exercise experienced by the private sector is the result obtained by the five largest firms in the country. The blue chips - as they are known in the stock market and represent 67% of the Ibex 35, the index, which brings together the most important companies in the bag - won 29.633,7 million euros in 2007, which represents a substantial increase of 27% compared to the previous year.
Put in context, their benefit package equivalent to 2.82% of gross domestic product (GDP) is higher than the Spanish and record surpluses achieved by the Administration (23,368 million, 2.23% of GDP). Since it began to jump red lights that pointed to economic decline, the Government, employers and analysts not stopped repeating that the budget surplus provides an important cushion to take measures to cushion the fall. The same can be said of the surplus business.
