Hotel owners contradict that Barcelona is attracting cheap tourism... The flow of visitors with sufficient purchasing power to stay in four or five star hotels has encouraged businessmen in the industry to plan the construction of another 36 establishments of both types, which will bring another 5 014 inhabitants to the city. Barcelona, which will have 49 new hotels by 2011, has duplicated its supply in only a decade. In despite of that, the efficiency rate continues to raise. And the average price: 125 euros, 12% more than it was last year; is an increase of four times more than the average salary.
