Barcelona is fast on the hottest place for movie makers. Such luminaries as Woody Allen, was instrumental in turning New York into one of the most famous film locations with films such as Manhattan Murder Mystery, Husbands and Wives and Annie Hall to name just a few. His most recent film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which in the Catalan capital, is one of many new movies are filmed, in Barcelona.

Nowadays many other film producers set it sights on Barcelona as an ideal location film. Last year (2007), 47 films were shot in Barcelona.
